Thanks to the nice men in your company who were very kind to my 4-year old son during the elevator fire at the Palm Beach Motel on August 27th. He was terrified by the ordeal, and one fireman (perhaps the driver of the pumper truck?- didn't get his name) showed him the truck and let him blow the horn. He still talks about that, and I would like to thanks the man for his gesture during a tough moment for my son!

I would like to correspond with some one who could give me some good tourist tips for the Wildwood area. I had visited the area a long time ago while at the CG Cape May boot camp. I have two boys ages 12 and 14. I remember the area as having a lot of what I call Victorian style homes. I do not however know where good places are to stay, but I want to be somewhat near the Boardwalk for the kids but to still enjoy the seacoast and quiet rural areas I remember. Anyone there if you can be of assistance it would be appreciated, I would be visiting in mid to late summer, thanks in advance for your help, Michael Blake, Druham, NH

Gathering storm clouds bruise a perfect summer sky. Thunder rumbles in the distance as daylight surrenders to darkness. As temperatures drop and the wind begins to howl, a jagged bolt of lightning streaks toward the earth. In the heart of the forest, a young juniper tree explodes, spewing forth a giant fireball.
The dragon is born.
“It’s the devil’s breath,” the locals say, referring to the hot, unseasonably gusting winds that spur the blaze on. The fire feeds on its drought-ravaged surroundings, snapping 80 foot ponderosa pines like twigs. As it roars through acres of dense forest, an elite group of firefighters called hotshots converge to save a nearby town.
Nika Jacks is here to slay the dragon.
In the Arizona wilderness, her five years serving as a lieutenant on a Tennessee fire department mean nothing. Here, she’s just another rookie hotshot coming to fight against an enemy she can barely comprehend.
It’s hot, grueling work, but Nika is determined that nothing is going to stop her: not a smokejumper ex-husband in the same camp, not a crew boss who thinks women don’t belong in fire service and most certainly not the wacko who’s started leaving her love notes at camp.
The only woman on a twenty man crew, Nika takes her share of abuse. When she gets the first series of love notes, she assumes it is a prank. One letter begs her to meet with her admirer and Nika decides to play a prank of her own. An innocent joke sparks a madman’s rage and now the gifts he leaves her are deadly, like a rattlesnake in her sleeping bag.
To add to her troubles, she finds herself insanely attracted to one of the members of the prison crew. All hell breaks loose when a prisoner starts a disastrous blaze in the wilderness to aid his escape. Nika learns the prisoner she’s attracted to is an undercover FBI agent sent to find a stolen fortune buried in the woods.
J.T. and Nika share a spontaneous, burning attraction that is repeatedly thwarted by their dedication to their careers. The woods are crawling with crazies and it will take all their resources just to survive the summer.

I recently was in Wildwood for my first time with my family. As a fireman I naturally spent one of my days down there visiting the local departments trying to view the apparatus as well as collect patches. I stopped by your department and was unable to get an answer at the door. I must say that your front showcase bay took my breath away! During the fireman's convention, I had friends whose company stayed at the Cozy Crest Motel on Seaview Ave. The conditions of the apartments in this facility were horrible. There are disconnected smoke alarms, wires running under pillows on the beds to an outlet on the wall for lamps and workshops lights hung incorrectly on the walls which have to be unplugged to turn off and on. That along with the mold on the wall as well as the odor in the entire place, makes it definitely an unsafe place to stay. Are places like this inspected by anyone? If not, I hope someone makes an unannounced inspection before something happens. Thank you for allowing me to voice my complaint.
